Very great experience - would definitely recommend this property

We were really happy with this property. The location was perfect: just far enough from the busy harbor/shopping areas to have great peace and quiet, but close enough to walk (stroll) there in about five minutes. The air conditioning was a huge plus, since it was somewhat hot and very humid the week we were there. The layout of the house was really good, with most of the sleeping area upstairs, a nice family room on the ground floor (with a great TV, which was a factor since we were there during the Olympics), and one bedroom on the ground floor just off of the kitchen/dining area. The earliest-risers used that bedroom, and all was well: we could be up early and not disturb the later sleepers upstairs. There's a terrific side deck just off the kitchen: shaded, with plenty of privacy. We used the gas grill (worked fine) and ate on the deck several times. The front porch was also really nice, and it was great to relax out there since the street is so not-busy. The only neighbors were a very friendly older couple, and pleasant to chat with. The things we can critique are pretty minor: if you really want a yard this is not the place for you: there's literally no yard at all; the towels and wash clothes (of which there were plenty) were relatively cheap, and rough. The kitchen floor squeaks a lot, which wasn't an issue for us but could be if the ones using the ground floor bedroom are light sleepers.

Perfect place to stay with the family

The property is ideally located, attractive and has everything you need. Grocery store is right around the corner. Everything in Bar Harbor is in walking distance from the home.

Location, location, location and a great place to call home during a family vacation.

This charming 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house is located close to many Bar Harbor activities. Its location to the downtown, the Bar and Acadia makes it an ideal location for any family who wants to visit the area. The house is very clean and had all of the amenities a family needs to enjoy some time away together. The gas grill is a nice addition to relieve the need to eat out and enjoy good food. Also the grocery store is just a short walk away (a block away) and yet the house is far enough away from downtownthat night life isn't waking you up in the middle of the night. All in all our experience at this property was all good. The owners are also very nice and easy to work with. We look forward to our next Bar Harbor trip in 2017.

Great Getaway

Visiting Bar Harbor was a truly amazing experience for our family and this home was perfect for us. Since we are a family of six, I decided that it would be nicer and more economical to rent a home through VRBO. It is ideally located close to the Village and a short drive to Acadia. The home was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The owners were great to work with and quickly returned our calls when we had questions. We really enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning in the future.

Loved It !

The location and the house were perfect we were an extended family staying together. As with every family it's hard to please everyone, this house made that both possible and enjoyable. Everyone could get out and about on their own or together on a whim without packing up a car. That flexibility is most important on rainy days, we were not house bound. You can walk to the the ocean or out for coffee before everyone else is up. You could run out to the store for something you forgot to get for dinner in a snap. The patio is private and the neighborhood is quiet.

This house had all the comforts of home as well as those for a perfect vacation. It is one block from the ocean, there was an island that you could walk to at low tide. It was a great way to spend an afternoon. The grocery and shops were close and convenient. The location is perfect, and numerous hikes are within a bike ride or short walk away. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals every night, from the toaster oven to the outdoor barbecue. Margaret was an great to deal with and was very communicative and available for any questions we may have had. The only thing that could have made it better was a little cooler to take on picnics but otherwise everything else was great. Do yourself a favor and stay at this fantastic home. I definitely recommend it.

Ideal place to stay

Our time at this house in Bar Harbor was great - went in off season and still really enjoyed hikes in the park and biking (which is very close to the house,) and into the little town. The house has been nicely done and decorated - fun, bright colors and lovely furnishings. There is plenty of room for a large group, with two living rooms and fenced back patio. Would be great for young children or multiple couples! I would absolutely go back (and plan to!).
