In a great location close to downtown. The house is very clean, would definitely stay there again.

We loved the area. There is so much to do in Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. We were there in mid September. The park was not to busy. We spent quite a bit of time hiking. It is to early for the fall colors but we did start to see some of the trees turning. Will definitely return again.

Great ‘Home away from home’ in Bar Harbor!

This super charming 3 bedroom home was ideally located in downtown Bar Harbor! Walkable to everything but just far enough away from the Main Street hustle and bustle. Plenty of space for 4 people. We loved relaxing on the front porch every evening. Has everything you need for a ‘home away from home’. Having the grocery store across the street was so convenient. We would definitely recommend this home and we plan to stay here again!

Great for a family!

We stayed 7 nights in October. The house was in the perfect location to walk all over Bar Harbor, especially the land bridge to Bar Island which our kids loved. Nice parking spot. The house had everything we needed. Margaret was an excellent host, even mailing us a phone after we checked out that we had lost deep in the cushions of the couch. They have some fun games for kids in the dining room and the laundry machines worked perfectly. Comfortable beds with down comforters. There isn't any view, just a parking lot and a cute bed and breakfast, but we came here for the majestic views off the mountains. The grocery store is conveniently across the street and just a short 2 minute walk to Jordan's restaurant. We will definitely try to stay here again.

Very comfortable, clean, and a great location that is walking distance to everything.

We enjoyed our stay in this clean, comfortable place with plenty of room. We liked the location, especially the short walk down Bridge Street for the walk out to Bar Island at low tide.

Wonderful property in Bar Harbor

We had a great stay at this beautiful home conveniently located within walking distance to town and a short drive to Acadia National Park. Margaret provided all the amenities needed for a homey stay including comfortable beds, a kitchen stocked with cooking essentials and appliances for home meals, grilling area and parking. We loved accessing the park for the hiking during the day and walking into town in the evenings. Nice clean home, great location, informative owners.

Place was great! Seemed to be dead center in the middle of everything in Bar Harbor!

The place worked out great! It was just my wife and I but we enjoyed having the extra space! The place is located dead center in the middle of everything! We were a 25 yard walk from the grocery store across the street but set back away from the road enough to keep it very quiet! Bar Island bridge which exists during low tide and disappears during high tide was a 5 minute walk from the house! We found ourselves spending the day in Acadia walking trails, coming back to buy pounds of lobster, scallops etc at the grocery store across the way each day, and sitting back and enjoying some great meals! Store will cook them there for you! Due to great proximity of the house, we could just walk out the door and wander after dinner down to the shops to look around or walk down by the bay! Everything was a few minute walk! I highly recommend the house due to its fantastic location! I recommend buying the lobsters in the store at $6.99 a pound and letting them cook them for you! So much more affordable then paying triple for them in the restaurants! Especially if you are a large group! Take advantage of the convenience of being in the house!

Great in town holiday home!

We echo previous reviews who enthused over the excellent location and light airy well equipped home we enjoyed last week. We had fabulous weather and enjoyed Acadia's wonderful scenery. Summer Street is short stroll from the sand bar, shore path, shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the Town Brass Band in the Village Green, a film under the stars at Agamont Park, a ghost walk and evening strolls for ice cream. Cadillac Mountain is 15 mins drive away in the park. We also enjoyed the front porch and the sun streaming through the windows in the morning. As others have mentioned, the house is set back from Cottage Street so no traffic noise. Summer Street is tucked away with some pretty front gardens and the quaint Black Friar Inn is just across the way. The big supermarket is across the road but there is also a great natural foods store a couple of mins away where you can get great coffee. The only very minor annoyance was the Black Friar's vent/blower was a bit noisy- but you can sit round the back of the house and not hear it plus it does get turned off at night. Also you are out and about all day anyway. All in all we can while heartedly agree with other guests in recommending this rental! Response

Relaxing downtown bungalow

We absolutely loved our stay at Margaret's house in Bar Harbor. The best part is that you are downtown and minutes from all the shops, restaurants and stores, but also tucked away on a little side street that doesn't have the same noise and congestion as downtown. There is a sweet little restaurant and Inn across the street which had excellent food. The beach walk is 1 block away and the main grocery store is across the big street. The house itself is comfortable, clean and well done with exceptional beds and bedding. We spent alot of time on the front porch and there is also a grill and patio set in the back. The owner even gave me use of her blender so I could make food for the baby. No complaints, we will most definitely be back. Thank you for a great stay!
